Mobile Neuroimaging and Mobility in Parkinson's Disease

This research study investigates the underlying brain mechanisms that are responsible for cognitive processing and mobility in older adults with Parkinson’s disease. Briefly, the study will involve one visit to the lab (located in Thames Hall on Western University campus) where you will sit and walk in laboratory and real-world environments while wearing a mobile neuroimaging headband. Participants will receive $20 in appreciation for their time.

Who can participate in this study?

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease as per a licensed neurologist
  • Can walk independently
  • Age 55+
  • No no other neurological impairment or neuropsychiatric disorder beside PD
  • Normal or corrected-to-normal (contacts or glasses) vision and hearing

What is involved?

You will be asked to complete one session in the Exercise, Mobility, and Brain Health Lab that will be scheduled at your convenience. The total time commitment is 2 - 2.5 hours.
